Mayo Nissen

Design, etc

Mayo is a New York-based designer interested in the intersections and interplay between research, service thinking, and interaction design, and in creating strategies and solutions to leave the world in better shape than he found it.

He is a creative director at frog design, where he leads the interaction design discipline in the New York studio, and was previously principal designer at Urbanscale and a consultant at ReD Associates and Radarstation. He is a graduate of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, Brunel University, and the United World Colleges. His design work has been exhibited at New York's Museum of Modern Art, Milan's Salone Internazionale del Mobile, and Stockholm’s National Center for Architecture and Design, and regularly teaches, guest-lectures, and advises. Originally from London, he has lived and worked in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Denmark.

He likes big cities, hard questions, and shades of black.
