I suppose usually you would have got one together with the other, or be ignorant of both, and it&#8217;s certainly unnerving sometimes!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/mn-0-0036.jpg\" alt=\"mn-0-0036.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a very disorienting experience going shopping without knowing most of the brands, either of the stores (is this one the equivialent of Waitrose or Asda?) themselves or the products in them. I suppose it goes to show how much we rely on brands around us being familiar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/mn-0-0333.jpg\" alt=\"mn-0-0333.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/?p=88\">More&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/mn-0-0318.jpg\" alt=\"mn-0-0318.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a tendency towards using lots of condensed type on signs, both new and old.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/mn-0-0655.jpg\" alt=\"mn-0-0655.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Why would you take a perfectly good QWERTY keyboard, and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/QWERTZ\">swap the Z and the Y keys<\/a>? It gets confusing typing on subtly different keyboards at home and during the day. Plus, CTRL+Z isnt quite as easy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/dus1.jpg\" alt=\"dus1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A lot of people smoke (more than in England? no idea, but it seems more socially accepted, even if the statistics don&#8217;t bear it out. And there are a lot more smoking ads).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/mn-0-0054.jpg\" alt=\"mn-0-0054.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The transport system is great (and yes, it seems to run on time).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mayonissen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/mn-0-0019.jpg\" alt=\"mn-0-0019.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So far&#8230; I like it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s very odd being in a country where I know the language, but don&#8217;t really know the culture.
